About Me

My name is Ding Liu. I’m a multidisciplinary designer with a global perspective shaping my approach to creativity and innovation. With two master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, I’ve dedicated over a decade to refining my expertise in architecture, product development, environmental graphics, and interior design. But my greatest lessons have come from beyond the classroom.

My Journey

A few years after completing my degrees, I made an unconventional choice: I paused my career to explore the world, traveling to more than 100 countries. This wasn’t just about seeing new places - it was about immersing myself in cultures and environments that challenged me to think differently about design, space, and human connection. From the bustling streets of Iraq to the vibrant energy of DR Congo, these experiences reshaped my understanding of how design can enhance lives.

Design Philosophy

For me, design is more than aesthetics - it’s about storytelling and creating spaces that resonate on a human level. Whether I’m working on an architectural project, developing a product, or designing environmental graphics, my focus is on crafting thoughtful, functional, and emotionally engaging experiences.

I approach every project with curiosity and authenticity, blending technical precision with creative intuition to deliver designs that inspire and connect.

Beyond Design

Outside of work, I find inspiration through staying active and exploring new ways to push creative boundaries. Whether it’s experimenting with materials or simply seeking new perspectives, I’m always looking for ways to fuel my imagination.
